Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnotherapy
Q: How does Hypnosis Work?
A: Forget hypnosis, just forget the word. An easier way to
understand the process is to look at it as concentrated meditation, with
a goal in mind. The hypnotherapist acts as a guide, to help discover solutions to
issues and to help re-program the ultimate computer, the human mind.
When you find motivation at a sub-conscious level, it is very
effective. You can achieve dramatic results in a very short time.
The process of hypnosis is a natural, safe and timely method to modify
behavior.
Q: What Is Hypnosis?
A: Hypnosis is an altered stated of focused awareness, that can be
used to improve physical, emotional or mental conditions.
Understand that the process of hypnosis is simply guided imagery or
visualization. These are basically the same techniques that
athletes and successful people use in many aspects of their lives.
Q: Can I Be Hypnotized?
A: Not if you resist. You must have desire, belief and
expectancy to make it happen.
Q: Will I Quack Like A Duck While Under Hypnosis?
A: Stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy are very different. Stage
hypnotists are all about entertainment, (at the expense of their
subjects), and hypnotherapy is private, coincidental, and goal oriented.
Q: Is Hypnosis Like Going to Sleep or Being Unconscious?
A: No, just the opposite. Hypnosis is a heightened state of
awareness, and you will be aware of all aspects of your conversation
with the hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is also not letting someone else
control you. You are always in charge of accepting or rejecting
anything said by the hypnotherapist, and you can never be made to say or
do anything that would be embarrassing to you, would be against your own
moral code of conduct, or that would place you in danger.
Q: What is the cost for Hypnotherapy Sessions, and how many
sessions are required to achieve the results I desire?
A: See our
Hypnotherapy Services Page for more details on fees.
